Toyota has begun phasing out replacement parts for the legendary Getrag V160 and V161 6-speed transmissions found in the MkIV Supra and other high-performance models. As of mid-2025, even basic service items like the factory drain plug have been discontinued – a part that frequently needs replacing due to a rounded Hex or impact damage during routine maintenance.
Rather than leave owners without options, we developed our own upgraded solution:

Unlike the original Toyota/Getrag design, these transmissions were never equipped with any form of magnetic drain plug from the factory. Over time, microscopic metal particles suspended in the gear oil circulate and accelerate wear on gears, synchros and bearings. Our magnetic plug captures this debris the moment the oil is drained, significantly extending transmission life and giving you immediate visual feedback on internal health.
